Pickin' Cantaloupes

Sorry it has been so long! I know everyone is tired of the same Houchin blog page! Kutter has started walking EVERWHERE so my time is limited! I will try to be better in the future!
Todd's mom and dad went out of town and we got to pick the cantaloupes! We had so much fun! Well.....Kutter and I did. The big boys picked 20 cantaloupes and hauled them all to the car!
Kutter loves to play in the field. He also loved it when his little feet sunk into the rows of dirt. He tried so hard to pick up the cantaloupe, but they were just too heavy! O well...this made great pictures!

Vacation 2007

It seems that the older our kids get, we only take a vacation that revolves around their activities! Koal's Lubbock Rockets basketball team made it to the BCI Nationals in Lewisville. We decided we would make a long vacation of it. We left Sunday for the lake (pictures below) and ended up at the tournament on Thursday.
Koal's team is made up of boys from all over the area. Lubbock, Andrews, Plainview, Petersburg, Idalou and of course Slaton. They did much better than we thought they would do considering the competition. There were teams from Mississippi, Arkansas, Oregon, Tennessee etc... It was tough for Koal considering his height. There was a 12 year old that was 6"2'! They ended up playing for consolation, but lost. We are so proud of ya Koal!

Each team could pick their best two three-point shooters to enter the three-point contest. Koal was picked and boy was he nervous! The contest was from ages 11-15 years old. To our knowledge, there were only three 11 year olds and Koal was one of them. And to top it off, he had to go first out of everyone. He made three in 30 seconds. The winner was 14 years old and made 10 in 30 seconds. Koal was so disappointed that he did not do better, but we told him he will be ready and not so nervous next year!

And of course, I had to recruit some cheerleaders! We worked on chants the first day, and by the last day the parents had made the girls cheer uniforms! They did a great job!

We went to the lake the first part of our vacation. Ky and Koal caught tons of fish!

Hayden spent most of his time at the dock trying to catch perch. He did spend some time on the boat and caught this white bass!

July Cheer Camp

Aren't they cute! July's Cheer Camp was lots of fun! Lots of girls and lots of drama! It wouldn't be cheer camp if there wasn't drama! But I don't mind. Since the Houchin house is full of boys, these girls give me a taste of what it's like to deal w/ drama on a daily basis!
This group was full of energy! Go Tigers!

Happy 4th

Kutter had lots of fun this 4th of July. We had a very busy day and he did really well but was very tired! I know I posted tons of pictures and they go on and on, but there were so many cute babies that I could not resist!

This was at the Davies' house. We were trying to get all of the babies in the picture. Everyone did great but Kutter was not going for the sitting still thing!

Emily came to the rescue and held Brynlee, but by that time Kutter was on the move again so Ky had to jump in to hold him!

Ky is so good with babies now and Presley kept looking at him. This is such a sweet picture!

This was at the Slaton park. Kutter's Aunt Davia fed him lunch so we had to take his shirt off. I think Presley is looking at Kutter's belly hanging over his pants!

Taylor is going to be a tough girl! She was so fascinated with Kutter's bandanna that she pushed him over! Thank goodness he did not cry. We can't have a girl beating up on him already!

Our trip to Breckinridge

Well... we ventured out for a really short vacation on Saturday night. We went to see the Singletons (Todd's sister) in Breckinridge. I forgot how much stuff you have to take for a baby! It had rained a lot the week before, but Sunday the weather was great! The kids swam all day, we cooked out and had a great visit. Hanna loves her Kutter Kash. She was a big help. Thanks Hanna!

Water Boy!

Kutter got his own swimming pool! (Mainly because his brothers are too big for it!) Koal filled it up with water and the boys could not wait to put Kutter in it. We let them and then realized how cold the water was! It did not matter to him. He was all smiles and a couple of shivers!

My Cheer Girls!

These are my cheer girls! We had a cheer camp last week and we had so much fun! The girls learned tons of chants, dances and we even walked to the park and did a little stunting!

Of course with this age group, we had to have a crazy picture! This was pretty much the norm all week! Girls will be girls!

My younger group was sweet as can be! We had a lot of chiefs and not many indians, but we made it work!

I know more than I need to know about these girls and their parents! They tell all! Never a dull moment! Drama, drama, drama!

Cheer camp was a huge success. I will have more pictures after next month's camp!
